I keep thinking "this can't get any stupider!"
I am continuously wrong.
I'm still watching, cuzza Audrey, but this is possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. Worse than #Zardoz.
OK. Hadda pause. Because...
Cary Grant and Audrey are on a boat ride on the Seine(?) having dinner. A discussion takes place by the railing.
But, it's filmed in a studio, and background edited in. The background angle is vertigo-inducing askew from the supposed angle, as tho the ship were (in a car sense) drifting, and moving entirely too fast.
Combined with the phone-it-in acting... It's sooo bad!
I'm taking a smoke break to prepare myself for the last half hour. So much cheese.
I finished it, and I feel much stupid for having watched it all.
But, now I know this glasses shot is a still from this movie.
A shame that such a va-va-va-voom (for me) image comes from such a terrible movie. Sha-WING!
Again, I cannot recommend this movie, despite the Audrey appeal.
@BlippyTheWonderSlug
I haven't seen it. Is it awful because it's dated, or was it awful when it was made?
@BlippyTheWonderSlug
That's... disappointing, but good to know!
Thanks for biting the bullet for the rest of us :-)
Bummer. I'm really fond of Johnny Hartman's version of the theme song, though.
