UK has just declared an effective end to asylum. There current IS no legal way to claim asylum in the UK without entering the coutry illegally. By denying even being able to APPLY for asylum if you enter illegally therefore we have withdrawn from the UN Convention on refugees. Quite remarkable how far the country has fallen.

Makes me ever so sad to witness all these terrible developments. 
I used to be a big anglophile, my wife is British (and since 2019 also German). But the whole brexshit disaster destroyed a lot. 
The UK is turning into an isolated, fascist sh*thole. 
@ruedi @scottgal it's sad to think that if the Brits had managed to hold onto the North American colonies - let's call that hypothetical "Great America" - we would eventually have had to suffer at the hands of A Very English MAGA cult. Different accents, same old neo fascist shit.
Realistically though this rot is setting in everywhere - fuelled by extreme inequality and fanned by anti-social media as we race to the bottom.
