Heute noch kurz weiter von #Garmisch über #Ettal nach #Murnau.

Ganz hübsch die #AmmergauerAlpen - wenn man dann mal am Ettaler Sattel droben ist...schnauf.

A Four-Summits day in the Ammergauer Alps

On a sunny Sunday, we embarked on a hike in the Ammergauer Alps, tackling the Three “Hörnle”s and “Stierkopf”. Despite a late start and feeling under the weather, we enjoyed spectacular views and a memorable adventure across four summits. The hike was a perfect reminder of the beauty of these mountains.

The (Un)Bearable Remoteness of Being on a #WildWednesday

So very much in love with this place, the memories of the adventure to reach it (through snow till my hips) and these textures. Like abstract paintings. The snow exposing features in the landscape invisible in summer. Pictures taken almost two years ago, forming a diptych panorama...

Upper left half of a panorama in the Ammergauer Alps: Lightly snow-covered, brownish gray montain slope with rock faces (western flank of Kienjoch), roughly a 1000 meters above the valley, loosely scattered patches of trees in the lower half, serene pale blue sky with faint clouds, just a hint of the sun attempting to break through in places. All in all forming an almost abstract painting of super complex textures, visual noise. You can feel the cold, the remoteness of the place and the grandiosity of nature.

Discovered a lovely (new to us) valley today. Tolkien vibes whilst walking the narrow path high above the creek through the canyon, then criss-crossing it numerous times till the end of the valley. Amazing light & colors...
