2024 sera l'année la plus chaude jamais enregistrée ! Selon le service climatique de l'UE, la température mondiale a dépassé 1,5°C par rapport à l'ère préindustrielle, et cette chaleur extrême devrait se poursuivre au début de l'année prochaine. Nous devons agir maintenant pour protéger notre planète !

Trotz Versprechen, von fossilen Brennstoffen wegzukommen, steigen die globalen #CO2Emissionen 2024 auf ein Rekordhoch von 37,4 Milliarden Tonnen.
Während die Emissionen in den #USA und #Europa leicht sinken, treibt vor allem# Indien (+4,6 %) den Anstieg voran.
Erneuerbare Energien ersetzen #fossileBrennstoffe nur teilweise, da der weltweite Energiebedarf weiter wächst.
Ich habe eine Reanalyse der Altdaten gemacht und nach weiteren typischen Stichwörtern gesucht.
Das Ergebnis ist etwa 1,6-mal so hoch ausgefallen. Auch im Dezember wurde zusätzlich viel über #Klimaschutz, #Klimaproteste, #Klimaaktivisten und die #COP28 diskutiert.

Is it fit or not fit for purpose? That it the question.
One could think that COP is perfectly fulfilling its purpose. I.e. make-believe but not effectively address climate change.
Or is COP purpose really to address climate change? If it was, why were „fossil fuels“ left out of the Paris Agreement? Why did #cop28 close their agreement without island states in the room? Why only once per year?
Last year, the United Arab Emirates made a mockery of COP28 by abusing their position as host to sign oil & gas contracts.
This came as no surprise, as the #COP28 President Sultan al-Jaber claimed that there is “no science” behind calls for a phase out of fossil fuels. And we must state this clearly: fossil fuels are the principal cause of the global climate emergency that humanity faces.
