One thing I hear about Linux on Bluesky, particularly from the Debian fans, is that all Linux distros are the same at the end of the day.

And yeah, I get that. No matter the distro, the Linux desktop is either just really good, or just really janky and ass. And distro-hopping isn't going to solve that lol.

Has anyone with a trailer / tiny house ever build a draw bridge like door? So with a door that has hinges at the bottom instead of at the side? And if in retrospect they think it was a good or bad idea or if it had some unexpected issues. (@HoernchenCecile maybe?)
And I'm wondering if I should go for it anyway despite all potential downsides bc. I've gotten some patches/code into the #Linux bridge .

Arbeiten gestern als #familienadmin :
- Partition einer externen ssd, auf der Debian installiert ist, verkleinert, um Platz für Backups zu schaffen
- neue Partition mit ext4 angelegt
- homeverzeichnis der Tochter gesichert (was mind. 10 mal schneller ging als mit einem USB-Stick)
- außerdem gefreut, dass es keinerlei Fehlermeldungen gab (was der Fall gewesen wäre, wenn man fat32 oder ähnliches Zeug nimmt)
- Notebook verpackt und weggeschickt
- Ersatzgerät eingerichtet

rEFInd to the rescue. After struggling for years with Preparing and Booting removable media with UEFI on Linux I just discovered refind https://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/linux.html which greatly lowers my pain and fills in some missing gaps. untetbootin, belena-etcher, gparted, gdisk and zillions more I never got the thing to boot. So if anyone is struggling with boot on Linux, maybe checkout 'apt-get install refind' or whatever is your favorite way to install packages. #UEFI #LINUX #refind

I’m still pushing off this Windows 24H whatever it is that installs recall- but it gets more persistent and intrusive by the day. Honestly, I am one game away from going to Linux, and that is EA WRC. It’s my most played sim racing game that currently doesn’t work on Linux due to anti cheat.

I have hope that one day the anti cheat is removed. But it is EA, so that hope is quickly shattered.
