My old apple Mighty Mouse is forever dead-naming me. Is there any way to reset it to factory?

Apple forums, other progressively more nerdy (*overflow, xdev, etc) have nothing. One unanswered question from 2020 on the official Apple forums.

I can give it an alias (in OS-X or in Linux) but the actual advertised name never changes when, e.g., using bluectl from the command line.

Help?
