I have to interrupt our travel report from South America for a moment with a current post.

Very, very similar pictures are popping up everywhere at the moment, showing a person as a small plastic action figure, complete with various accessories originally packed in a sales package. These images are usually all generated with AI. Except for a small independent trend where artists make their own versions of their action figures; often drawn, but also folded from paper, crocheted or modelled from plasticine.

Here is my take on this phenomenon:
The Garstl action figure. 100% AI-free. Completely classic, manual image retouching.

Adda loves our lodge! The complex of several palm leaf-covered wooden cabins is built entirely on stilts - as protection against floods and all kinds of creatures that are at home in the jungle.
The cottages are connected to each other by a system of covered walkways and bridges, so that the entire small village appears to float above the ground.

It’s odd, but some people still react to puppets, muppets or marionettes in opera as if it were strange or new. This season alone there are THREE operas with puppets at my theater! L’elisir d’amore, Der kleine Prinz, and La muette de Portici.
