Can any #Snake lovers or just #Reptile experts or there help with this?
I was digging out an old compost heap yesterday and came across a clutch of, what I assume to be, Grass Snake eggs. (I'm in north west England)
They are an odd colour and very early so I'm guessing they are from last year and failed to hatch due to the cold, wet summer we had.
Is there any way to ascertain whether they are still viable?
Today was beautiful and warm, so we carried lunch outside to eat it while sitting on a stone wall. We met a new and angry neighbor. Sorry dude, didn't realize we needed lunch reservations here. #snake

A beautiful Speckled Kingsnake we saw on the driveway during our lunch-time walk yesterday. It was a little defensive during the photo session, but slithered away we were done. No human or snake was harmed during the encounter.

That the number of German folk tales where a #snake crawls into a woman's mouth while she is asleep is greater than zero is rather disturbing. Though the tale where the woman gives birth to a child intertwined with the snake is most disturbing of all.
